Pencil, watercolours, pen, coloured markers, inks, and charcoal come together to shape the architectural practice of Alberto Kalach, as captured in his personal sketchbooks. In a continuous flow that vibrantly intertwines the hand, the eye, and the mind, Kalach’s strokes evolve over time, chronicling more than 40 years of projects. Floor plans, sections, axonometrics, and perspectives coexist with poems, gardens, reflections, human silhouettes, notes, and portraits, creating an intimate archive of his creative process.

As part of Art Week 2025, BY Galería de Arquitectura presents a groundbreaking exhibition that explores the universe of Alberto Kalach through his notebooks. During the week-long show, the sketchbooks will reveal a new page each day, reshaping the gallery space and uncovering a variety of themes and fields of interest that underpin the architect’s daily craft.
