Pablo Kobayashi

(Mexico City, 1976)

Pablo Kobayashi is an architect with a masters in Emerging Technology and Design (EmTech) in the Architectural Association School of Architecture, London.

He has focused his practice and research in the understanding and application of the emergency phenomenon in design processes, analysis, production and learning, and expresses them -from and towards- a diversity of material systems. He conceives the object as a result of the interaction of simple elements, following low-level sophistication rules, and not as the direct sum of its parts. He has studied the roles of digital tools in design processes, in conciliation with analogue methods and traditional construction techniques. He is in constant search of a dialectic integration between form, matter and tool, and vinculates the body as code processor. Kobayashi is interested in the implementation of the emerging structures of systemic thought that are conceived digitally, but don’t depend on computers.
